Hi, we are Elin and Otto
We are a Norwegian couple who love to travel and for the last 10 years mostly by car; overlanding. Since we like to seek out places off the beaten track, we have chosen a compact car with good passability, a Toyota Land Cruiser. First a Land Cruiser 80, now a 78 with a pop-up roof. That is, there is standing height at the rear when the roof is swung up, but it is rather cramped in there. Our philosophy is that when we travel it is to be outside, not to sit inside the car. And we like to go to warmer regions than Norway.
Overlanding is not just about driving as many miles as possible, an important part of the experience for us is to have time to look at old cultural monuments, eat local food and experience culture and people in the countries we visit. We often travel with our Swedish friends in SWES, the Swedish Expedition Society.
In addition, we like hiking, preferably in slightly exotic destinations, or combine it with car trips. There will be enough sitting in the car.
In addition to traveling, Otto is a passionate hobby mechanic who maintains the cars and restores our veteran, a Land Cruiser 40.
